The Coyotes are human traffickers specializing
in the smuggling of people across the Mexican-U. S. border. A desperate
father, against his better judgment, enlists the help of The Coyotes
in bringing his son (Russel Toledo) to his fold. Anthony, the youngest
member (himself hardly more than a child) of the trafficking gang
(Jose Oliva) feels sympathetic to the plight of the boy, and when
the beat-up Toyota they are traveling in stalls in the middle of the
rattlesnake-infested desert, he begins to question the morality of
what they do and clashes with his cousin Marco (Eduardo Zarrabal).
A tough but compassionate look into the erosion of innocence, bleached
on the desert sand by the cruel sun. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung.

It is 2018 in San Francisco after World
War III. We all now live underground but new student Ashley discovers
life at school hasn't changed much. The cliques and bullying are as
active as ever. But one student sees something special in Ashley.
Will they find love amongst the desolation of post-apocalyptic San

| It is 2018 post-nuclear war. Ashley
is a shy and naive 15 year old girl whose family moves into this community.
Nobody in the school likes her except one boy, Ryan who is the same
age as Ashley. There is a group in the class. Paul is the boss of
the group and Ryan used to be in the group. Guys in the group always
bully her because she is new. Ryan is the only one to like her. Their
hidden affection is revealed at the elevator to area 205 when Ryan
shows Ashley his necklace from his mother and Ashley shows him her
four toes. They promise to keep these secrets. As their love grows,
Paul starts to distrust Ryan. One day Ryan and Ashley go to area 205
which is a forbidden area. They see a beautiful sunset through the
window for the first time and have a moment of love. On another day,
the group¡¯s pressure causes Ryan to disclose her secret. On Ashley¡¯s
way to the party, she is attacked by the group. After she misunderstands
that Ryan is one of them, she commits suicide by drinking a Coke that
Ryan gave her. Her body makes some noises and smokes. The audience
sees she is a robot. Her tears come out of her eye sockets for the
first time and their shape is exactly the same as Ryan¡¯s necklace. |
